Submachine 2 Walkthrough
After posted Submachine 2, I’ve spent long hours sitting in front of my notebook to complete this game and heres my version of Submachine 2 The Lighthouse walkthrough.
If you are stuck in the game and need hints, tips or solution to guide you, this is a complete walk through to help you get the answer. Spoiler/cheats below:
1) Click the Submachine game machine and look at your right side on top of the rocks there is a tiny red ball. You’ve just found Secret(1)
2) Keep going left and go up the stairs, pick up the cog wheel on the floor. Secret(2) on chair.
3) Go downstairs and go to right, drag your wisdom gem into the space between the stand and then click on the tiny ball to drop the ladder on your right room.
4) Go two room on your right, click on the Phonograph(antique music player) and drag the cog wheel into the square space. Click on the round button.
5) Climb up the dropped ladder once and go to the right. Click on the bottom left of the machine and write down what C equals to.(C=?)
6) Go back to the ladder and go up. Go into the hole and keep going left until you find a room key.
7) Go back to the ladder and go up. Go right and you can find a fork in the square hole. Secret(3) on top.
8) Go back to the ladder and go up. Go left and keep going up the stairs. Secret(4) in the broken left wall.
9) Go all the way to your right. Secret(5) in the sand.
10) Go left once, take the pamphlet and click on the picture. Zoom in the small writings and jot down the dotted sign.
11) Go left once. Secret(6) on top of light.
12) Keep going left until you see two doors. Go into the left room and take the cat note in the left shelf.
13) Use room key on right door and take the sewer key. You can flush if you want.
14) Go all the way down the stairs and go right then go down. Use sewer key on the locked hole.
15) Go into the hole, from inside the hole:
Go 1 time left, 1 time down, 1 time right to get 2nd floor key
Go 3 times left, 1 time down to get Secret(7)
Go 3 times left, 3 times down, 1 time right, 1 time up to get Letter to Liz. There are 3 Secrets here.
Go 9 times left to get Secret(11)
Go 7 times left, 1 time down, 1 time right to get Positive Coil
Go 5 times left, 2 times down, 1 time left, 1 time down, 1 time right. Solve the puzzle.(This is easy, make sure all the dot turn blue)
In the puzzle room, Go left, down, right, right, up, take the switch handle and get the heck out of the hole.
16) Go back to the ladder and go up. Go up the ladder again and go into the square hole on your right.
17) Go to the end and use switch handle. Pull down the switch handle.
18) Go back to the ladder and go down. Go left and click the tile on the wall to find Secret(12)(Count from the bottom right corner: 5 times left, 4 times up)
19) Take the stairs all the way up, go right and go into the metal door. Pick up negative coil.
20) Go up twice and use 2nd floor key. Go in left door and take diary 2 from the typewriter. Go left and take movie memory.
21) Go into the right door, click on the glowing machine and enter the code that you jotted down earlier. Press the green button and take the light bulb.
22) Go right and click on the moving stick. There are 4 Secrets here.
23) Pick up note to myself on the bed, go out of the room, go down the ladder and get out of the metal door.
24) Go left and go all the way down the stairs.
25) Go left, put the light bulb and movie memory into the camera, pull down the switch, click on the lens to look into the camera and click on the ID card in the picture.
26) Go right and all the way up the stairs. Go right and into the metal door, go all the way up the ladder. Use the fork on the broken wire and pull down the switch.
27) Go left door and up the ladder. To key in the 4 digit code you need to find the answer for e=m*c^2. You have found c earlier and you can find m in diary 2.(m=?)
28) Go down the ladder, go right door and up the ladder. Pick up Secret(17) and solve the puzzle.(All you need to do is turn all red dot into green)
29) Go down the ladder and go left. Go up the middle ladder twice. Go left to get Secret(18), go right and use positive and negative coil.
30) Keep climbing up the ladder until you see a huge light bulb. Secret(19) is on the floor and take the portal note.
31) Go to right to pick up digout key and go to left to put ID card into the slot.
32) Go all the way down the ladder and go out of the metal door. Go all the way to the left and use the digout key.
33) Go in the square hole, pick up the Secret(20) and go until the end and pick up the fuse.
34) Go back to the big bulb room, go to the right and put the fuse on the machine.
35) Pull down the switch under the big bulb and kaboom you’re out!!!
the value m changes, like for me it was 731

Your answer will be 2756. This is how you calculate: E=Mx(CxC). I was surprised alot of people don’t really know E equals MC square. It is a formula by Einstein.

Secret 3 is in the very top rightcorner of the screen where you get the fork, not in the square shelf but hidden in the wall.
With the code: you get your number for c and then times it by its self, eg if c=3, cxc = 9. Then time that number by m, eg if m= 100 then the code is 9×100=900 so the code would be 0900

e=mc² means e is m multiplied with c*c
simple example m = 8; c = 2
then ist e = 8 * 2*2 = 8 * 4 = 32
the third secret ist very good hidden, is in a corner of 2 bricks above the hole

OK.
A load of people are stuck on the “E=MC2″ thing.
Anyone that does maths should know of the term BIDMAS.
The BIDMAS theory suggests that mathematical problems should not be done from left to right. They should be done in a specfic order.
Brackets
Indices
Division
Multiplication
Addition
Subtraction
Indices means squared.
So if M = 590 and C=2, you would square the 2 giving you 4, then you would times that overall number by 590 giving you an answer of 2,360.
I hope this clears thing up.

Actually it goes PEMDAS, Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction. You multiply before you divide, not the other way around.

I love hearing “pedmas” and “bidmas” because I’ve never heard them before in my life - I just learned order of operation without any sort of special “word” to help me.
It was work the parenthesis first, then work any powers, then do your multiplication and division, and finally your addition and subtraction, going from left ro right.
If anyone has a brain and plays this, then the cat’s name, Einstein, should have brought to mind “‘E’ equals ‘M’ ‘C’ squared.
The rest is math - stuff most who play this should already know. Are we THIS stupid?
About everyone’s question - I have gotten all 20 secrets, but there doesn’t seem to be any change. The ending doesn’t change and there’s no button that appears when you are returned to the title screen. I suppose it’s just for bragging rights.

Jessica, the E=MCsquared: When 2 letters are together you must multiply those values. HOWEVER…you must find the square of C squared first. That is, multiply C value by itself! ie. C=3, so C squared would be 9 (3×3). Once you have C squared, multiply that value by M. Simple!!
It would seem that this games changes if you try to play it again…the damn thing has moved the location of my fork! And M and C have changed!

Hi, I have finished the game and i loved it but i needed help from the walkthrough. The e=mc2 thing was a bit confusing but i got eventually and you find out the green code thing from the arrow on the picture of the lighthouse.

In the process of submachine 2 i had a go at submachine 3… it looks hard!
i dont know if having all the secret items makes a difference to the ending but i got them all and my ending was a guy walking to the seashore. I also enjoyed the first submachine (it was alot easier)
P.S. Einstien was a clever man and my m=551 c=2 so 551×2x2= 2204 (but that doesn’t mean yours will be that)

just finished it. i had 17/20 secrets. i found where to put the coils… but now i dont remember. its close to the big ladder and big light bulb. um… the 4 digit code was for ex. m=703 c=2 703X(2X2)=2812 it wont make a noise or anything. you just gotta zoom out and look at the light… make sure its green. i think thats as much help as i can be. good luck.

I have no clue why you people keep talking about order of operations - it’s not necessary for the equation. E=mc^2 is equivalent to E=m*c*c. Nothing to order! just multiply, then multiply again!
And just for a crash course for anyone that’s curious E=mc^2 means that energy (E) of anything is equivalent to its mass (m) multiplied by the velocity of light (c) squared. Since c is a constant (just under 300000000 m/s), energy and matter are essentially equal. Furthermore, tiny amounts of matter contain huge amounts of energy: ref. atomic bomb. For more info, take an intro physics class

Amelia: The big bulb that you get from the three alien symbol box goes in the camera. You need it as well as the memory movie and to switch the camera on to get it to work.
The fuse that you get from the dugout goes in the stand to the right at the very top of the lighthouse, on the same screen as you got the key to the dugout.
The switch is in the sewers, go to the 4 by 4 blue button puzzle, solve it, so all the lights turn blue, and then go left, down, right, right, up. The glass cover should have swivelled away from the handle and you can grab it

Ok - to do the 4-digit code:
You look in diary 2 for the value of m (let’s pretend that it’s 100, as it changes for everyone)
You get the value of c from following point 5 above (let’s pretend that c is 3)
You then solve it by doing m x c squared, or using my example above, 100 x (3 x 3). Always work out what the value of c times itself is first, then multiply that by your m value. Volia!
So, if m=50 and c=2, then mc^2 is 50 x (2×2) or 50 x 4.
if m is 224 (like mine was) and c = 3, then mc^2 = 224 x (3×3) or 224 x 9, which = 2016
Collecting all the secrets doesn’t do anything.
To see where the coils go, follow point 29 above.
Sometimes you are in the dark, just keep moving the mouse about until an arrow appears. It sometimes takes time and patience.

I dont know if this has been mentioned, but the easiest way for you to solve the math problem e=m*c^2….
* means multiply duh
^ raises the problem m times c to the second power….
go to google and simply type…
if c for you is 3
and m for you is 674
in the search bar type
674*3^2
and click search
google will do the math and give you the answer. cant get easier than that.

Most solved by walkthrough … couldn’t zoom on lighthouse pic so I just tried sequencing the symbols (there are ten, so I made the little cross to = zero and went through the numbers till I came to about 645 or so) … you know; 001, 002, 003, etc. The e=mc2 thing is what really seemed to stump everyone, me included (the walkthrough isn’t crystal clear).
When will they have a Submachine 4???

I just now played the game and even though I admit I had to use the walkthrough for some parts, I had good fun solving the puzzles! Also, it’s funny to read some of your comments, especially the ones about the E=mc² thing.
I know there have been a lot of comments about it and I haven’t bothered to read all of them, but there are just two things I have to say about that:
1) You have to calculate it like this: E = m*(c²) … NOT like this: E = (m*c)²! There’s a huge difference! For example, let’s assume m = 666 and c = 3. If calculated correctly, the outcome would be 5994. If calculated the wrong way, the outcome would be 3992004! (which is obviously too many digits to input on the keypad)… I don’t know, but this might be what caused some people problems with the code.
2) The order of operations IS important for solving this formula (I’m looking at you, Hidexter), because like I said before you have to calculate the exponent BEFORE the multiplication. However, unlike other people have suggested, it DOESN’T matter in which order you use exponents and roots (1), multiplication and division (2), or addition and substraction (3), as long as those pairs are done in the right order (brackets first — starting with the innermost ones and working outward).
Just my two cents…

to get the room key go to the bottom tunnel and go all the way to the left. it is dark but you should be able to make out the key in the lower left side of the screen.

This game was fun, but the whole going different directions in a pitch black tunnel with no clues was pointless. I had to use a wakltrhough there.. but the rest of the game was cool.

I don’t understand this walkthrough. It didn’t remind me to jot down any pattern of dots anywhere. When I get to the room with the green glowing box I have no idea what the pattern is supposed to be. I have the c = number and the m= number but I don’t think that these work because the dots aren’t in any number shape or anything.
I am just confused because the walkthrough says use the code you jotted down before. The only thing it told me to jot down was c = 3…I can’t use that in the green dot code thing.
Please help.

Okay, I have almost everything done. But…
-I still have 2 secrets left to find. By the sounds of it, they aren’t too important.
- I don’t understand what to do with the coils.
- I can’t get all the light next to the time machine green. I have them all except the last one. I have the code, the little twirly things, the I.D. Card, and the fuse all in place. I just don’t know what to do next.
Otherwise, I’m completely done.

the answer is:
M times C to the second power (C times C)
my m was 546 and my c was 3 so it came out as 4914.
THE FOUR DIGIT CODE IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERY ONE!

The correct term is: BEDMAS
or,
BE(DM)(AS)
Brackets first
Exponents second
Division/Multiplication third (does not matter the order)
Addition/Subtraction fourth (does not matter the order)
Lets say-
m=300
c=5
e = m c^2
e = m x ( c x c )
e = 300 x ( 5 x 5 )
e = 300 x ( 25 )
e = 7500

hint….if u eva hav to find something in the dark a good thing to do is to copy the picture of wat ur looking at (using the print scrn/sysrq key) and copy it into a word document folder, then use the picture toolbar and make it brighter…..this helped me alot when finding secrets etc…

+/- coils:
Located along the climb upwards towards the portal room, notice the room that has a sloped dark area. Look midway along the screen and see two distinct lines . These indicate passageways to the left and to the right. Travel down the right side and you will find the place to input both +/- coils.

Um, everybody’s m is different right? All the C’s are 2, but all the m’s are different. mine equals 987, but its not working when I put it into the code thing. I got the puzzle where all the stick things go into the small little box, but I cant complete the number thing because my m # doesn’t work, and I’ve tried other people’s number.

To do the four digit code just times your ‘m’ by your ‘c’ and then times that answer by 2 and that will be your code.

For those arguing about “BEDMAS” or similar, it doesn’t matter what order division and multiplication are done in,
a*(b/c) = (a*b)/c and so forth
Similarly for addition and subtraction, it could be BEDMAS, or BEMDAS, or BEDMSA or anything of the like, they’re all equivalent.

Ok. I’m 14 . I’m not going to start sreaming “IDIOTS” although others seem tempted to. I’ve played the game twice through. Nothing happens with the secret items. Thy are just there. Now For the code. BIDMAS or BEDMAS or PEMDAS. It dosent matter.
Brackets or parenthases first.
Exponents or whatever next.
Multiplication OR Division next. It dosent matter cause they are like “Partners”
Addition OR Subtraction last. Again they are the same.
Now. E, M and c are different every game.
Simple order of opperations people. If you cant figure this out with all the info already available, You shouldent be playing. Sixth grade math people.
Ok
Example.
C=3
m=549
Now. E is what you must type in. That is the code.
Now. E=MxC^2
Now with exponents you MULTIPLY THE NUMBER BY ITSELF! NOT BY 2!.
Ex- 5^4
5×5=25
25×5=125
125×5=625
625
So, knowing what you know,
First, multiply C times C
Then multiply your answer by M
Theres your answer.
